At last I have a studio space although it is only temporary.  I feel a bit disorganised still in there but I hope to at least do some sort of painting when I get myself sorted.  Eventually this room and others will be demolished from this old house but not to worry I will just move all my stuff into one of the remaining rooms which are actually larger than this one and have air conditioning.

Collagraph plate

This is a small collagraph plate that I made recently.  It's approx 5" x 5" and made from cardboard mat board.  I have not printed from it yet but will get around to it soon.  It has been coated with several coats of Shellac for protection.

I recently bought a small portable printing press after my original press was damaged some years ago. The new press which is actually a die-cutting machine but can be used for printmaking.  I have already printed a small linocut  on this machine and the quality of the print was very good. It's the Xcut Xpress.

This is an old pattern of lilies that I had from printmaking years ago so I have just re-used it here and hope to make some more interesting plates in future.

Red Scarf

Small drawing done recently with Pastel and Pastel Pencil on Fabriano pastel paper.

Experiment ..

This is an experiment with acrylic paint, charcoal pencil and Lyra black pencil.  I have not done any painting for some time and so it all feels a bit strange.  But I will persevere and hopefully things will improve.

Abandoned girl ...

Just a sketchy drawing which I think was done on oil sketch paper .. I recently found it on my computer and remembered that I actually did start to paint this one but abandoned it as I did not like the feel of the surface.  Surfaces are very important to me because I hate to have to struggle with them to get the paint to do what I want.  I have this image so I could probably give it another go I guess.  I have a new studio space which is a 'first' in my life.  It is just lovely and I love being in there when I can but so far have had little time to enjoy it.
