This is a very small sketch done this afternoon.  When I think I just have time to do some small quick thing I usually regret starting it because they become too small to work with.  Anyway, this one came together after a bit of fiddling.  Pastel pencil on Fabriano Tiziano pastel paper.

Well ... can you see that I've been fiddling around with my blog! .. too much time on my hands lol! I've changed the header with the help of my daughter Amy .. always wanted to do that.  I'm putting up an image of my cat Tom .. (original name for a cat) ha! .. and a little drawing done by Amy of Tom sleeping - his favourite pastime. See Amy's blog at http://www.amywrona.blogspot.com/
Yes! .. he does still have two ears .. he's sleeping on the other one!  But he only has half a tail and at age 8 still has 8 lives left.

Yesterday it was raining .. and it has rained for the past several days .. so I spent some time drawing and this little pastel emerged. It's approx. 20cm x 25cm pastel and pastel pencil on Fabriano Tiziano pastel paper. A bit of an awkward pose .. hope I got that shoulder right!

Wings! ..

I'm not usually in the habit of putting wings on my people .. but this one was just asking for them. lol .. It's a small pencil drawing done with a brown Lyra coloured pencil. I have a few of these pencils - they are large fat ones and I usually keep them for drawing on canvas. They are very smooth to work with as they have either wax or oil in them. This was done on Canson pastel paper - smooth side.

Solar Prints

I've been rummaging in my Printmaking folder lately .. and found a couple of old Solar Prints done at Tafe last year. The one above was done in a bit of a rush from what I remember. I made a simple drawing of a girl on a small sheet of drafting film. The teacher provided a large selection of images printed onto transparent sheets for us to cut up and use with our drawing. I didn't even get time to trim the foliage images properly .. just placed them wherever :O .. so may look a bit rough. Later a colour roll was run over the plate before printing.

This second one is also a Solar Print .. but made totally with collage. I called it 'Lost Dog' .. Cuttings were taken from magazines to make a small collage and glued onto a sheet of paper. The collage was photocopied onto a transparent sheet of acetate before printing.
