Caroline sketch ..

A quick starting sketch of Caroline .. I did continue on with it but I am finding it difficult to see at night so am not entirely happy with it so far .. I will look at it again in daylight and may finish it then. I'm afraid I may have to give away the midnight drawings ... which is a pity because I really enjoy dashing them off in the quiet of the night ... sigh! My most creative time of day.
I have been thinking of turning to paint which I can use during the day .. but paint has never been my friend so I know I will have to struggle with it at first ... my main problem is I have no where to set up for painting as I still have no studio space .. so it will be difficult but I will try to get started somehow.  My blunders will no doubt show up here on this blog.

Green Jacket

Just doodling around the other night and this girl arrived on the paper.  I don't know who she is, she just turned up.  I thought I might put a little collage on her jacket but have not got around to it and once they get a few days old I rarely go back to them.  Pastel Pencil - approx. 13 x 13 centimeters on Fabriano Tiziano Pastel Paper.

Black Coat

'Black Coat' .. Finally got around to drawing at about 11pm tonight.  This one almost hit the bin but I got tough with it eventually and started pushing it around.  It's a bit grubby .. yes! .. but here it is.  Feeling a bit more like drawing lately - been nursing a sick pony with a serious eye injury and all that paddock duty has taken some of my strength and concentration away.  Temps. been in the 40s celsius here lately and some fierce storms.  But he is on the mend now although I have fears for his sight.  Worst scenario would have been removal of his eye but thankfully we have avoided that.  The usual Fabriano Pastel Paper .. can you tell I hate preparing surfaces to make art?  lol  Always just grab the old Fabriano when in the mood to draw.

Showgirl No. 1

After not drawing for about four months I decided to do a quick sketchy one this evening whilst awaiting the arrival of the New Year.  It must have been the glass of celibratory wine that relaxed me enough to get the pastel pencils out for this one.  Only about five colours used for this.  Approx. 15 x 20cm on Fabriano pastel paper.
